Tico Kite is a kitesurf and wing foil school at Playa Copal, in Bahía Salinas bay, at the far north of Guanacaste. The team settled on the beach in 2015, and the house that serves as the kite centre stands about 100 metres from the spot.
Lead instructor Rachid Pardo is IKO-certified. Born in Costa Rica, he has kitesurfed in Bahía Salinas since the age of 12 and has taught in several countries, including Morocco, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Greece.
Kitesurf and wing foil courses are adapted to each level, as private, semi-private or small-group sessions. Gear from several brands and a radio helmet to talk to the instructor are included. The school also rents kite and wing equipment.
