Kiteboarding Bonaire
Atlantis Beach, Bulevar E.E.G., Kralendijk · Bonaire · Caribbean Netherlands
School Presentation
Kiteboarding Bonaire presents itself as the island's original kite school. It has operated since 2001 from Atlantis Beach, south of Kralendijk, around its Blue Bus base.
It is an IKO centre. Every instructor holds an IKO certification, classes are limited to two students per instructor, and a rescue boat stays on the water during sessions. The water is flat and sheltered by a reef, with steady trade winds of 15 to 26 knots according to the school.
Lessons range from a first three-hour session (theory, safety and kite flying on the beach) to progression packages up to IKO level 3, plus sessions for riders who already ride. The centre also rents complete kite sets and wing foil gear, with a quick beach assessment for riders without an IKO card.
A Bonaire National Marine Park (STINAPA) fee is required before entering the water. A chill area with hammocks and shade sails sits behind the bus.
