Ahanta Waves is a surf school and surf camp in Busua, western Ghana, based at the beachfront Ahanta Eco Lodge. It calls itself the home of surfing in Ghana and sits in the middle of Busua beach, where it rents boards in different sizes and gives beginner and intermediate lessons.
Instructors have many years of teaching experience, with lifeguard and first-aid skills. The beginner camp lasts a week with a daily lesson, lodge accommodation, breakfast and dinner, and trips exploring the area's beaches, villages and colonial forts.
A 7-day camp for experienced surfers takes them to the best spots on the west coast: warm, uncrowded waves and forest-lined point breaks.
