Porthcawl Surf School

Porthcawl Surf runs the surf school and hire centre at the Rest Bay Watersports Centre in Porthcawl on the south Wales coast. Open all year except Christmas Day, the school describes itself as a Surf Safety approved surf school, with qualified, insured instructors who are Surf Life Saving Wales lifeguards, trainers and coaches.

Beginner surf lessons last two hours, with wetsuit and board included, from age 7; the school also offers adult beginner and improver courses, a kids' course, stand up paddleboard lessons, stag and hen sessions, school groups, coaching (intermediate, advanced, longboard, competition) and lifeguard, surf instructor and SUP instructor training.

The hire centre supplies wetsuits, surfboards, paddleboards, bodyboards and kayaks, minds customers' keys and sells waterproof pouches. A free webcam shows the beach.
