Kite School Pro Rømø

Kite School Pro Rømø is a kitesurf school on Lakolk beach, on the island of Rømø in the Wadden Sea. Its station is on the wide beach where you can park right by the water, in the zone reserved for surfing and kitesurfing. It is run by Dirk, an IKO level 3 head instructor with more than twenty years of kitesurfing who raced on the World Cup tour from 2000 to 2016. The school also has a base on the neighbouring German island of Sylt.

Lessons are private only, one-to-one with the instructor, from age 7. They follow three levels of 3 hours: kite control on land, then in the water, then first board starts. Equipment, wetsuit included, is provided, and an IKO certificate is available as an option. The school presents itself as the exclusive F-ONE partner on Rømø and trains only on that gear; it also advises on and sells kites and kitesurf sets. The 15-knot average wind is steady from early May to late October, and the huge beach suits beginners.
