MSA — Mohammedia Surfing Association

Mohammedia Surfing Association (MSA) is a surf club founded on 23 March 2000 by a group of young local enthusiasts. It operates from Sablettes beach, at the La Siesta end, out of a wooden hut right on the sand, running surf, bodyboard and stand-up paddle sessions for its members as well as for groups and schools from Mohammedia.

The club is one of the strongest in the country: it finished second overall in the 2025 Coupe du Trône surf and bodyboard standings with 5,680 points, behind Imourane Surfing Association of Agadir and ahead of its Sablettes neighbour FAST, at the finals held at Oued Cherrat. MSA and FAST are two distinct organisations based on the same beach, and they jointly run rounds of the Moroccan championship under the aegis of the Royal Moroccan Surfing Federation.

From the outset the association set out to shed surfing's reputation as a rich person's sport, giving free lessons to children from poor backgrounds and from the local orphanage — a social mission it has claimed since its early days and which earned it the federation's support. It publishes neither a website nor a price list: sessions follow the swell and the tide, and are booked on site or by phone.

The club publishes no opening hours. Sessions depend on the swell and the tide and are set day by day.

No season is announced either: the months of activity still need to be confirmed with the association.
