School Presentation

Saltsjöbadens Windsurfingklubb and its windsurf school are based at the Erstaviksbadet windsurf center in Saltsjöbaden, southeast of Stockholm. The school started in 1984 and the club a year later, founded by former students who wanted to keep sailing and train on the permanent triangle course.

The beginner course runs over 2 to 3 days (about 10 hours, at most 12 students, 4 experienced instructors) and starts on a land simulator; all equipment is included, life jacket and wetsuit too. Follow-up courses and, more recently, introductory wing foil courses (about 5 hours over one to two days) are also offered. Students must be 8 and able to swim; camps exist for the youngest.

The center rents windsurf gear (centreboard boards, freeride, funboards, sails from 2.5 to 9 m2) and a SUP board, and the club offers board storage spaces to members. The center is reached by train (Saltsjöbanan, Erstaviksbadet stop) or by car, then on foot from the car park.
