fun&wave Surf- und Segelschule Steinhude

fun&wave is a windsurfing and sailing school based in Steinhude harbour, on the southern shore of the Steinhuder Meer. Run by Samir Lemjid, it is an official VDWS sailing school offering windsurfing, wingfoiling, stand up paddling and sailing courses (dinghy, Optimist, catamaran), and more recently inland boat licence training.

For windsurfing, the school runs a weekend beginner course (two six-hour sessions, with theory and the VDWS licence exam), a one-day course, a three-hour taster and refresher courses. Wingfoil courses last two sessions of two and a half hours, from age 12 or 13 with a swimming certificate, in small groups of four or five students.

The school also rents windsurf boards, SUPs, wingfoil boards and sailing boats, and welcomes school classes and groups. Gift vouchers are available.

Weekend windsurf courses: Saturday and Sunday at 10:30; wingfoil courses: Saturday and Sunday at 11:00. Tasters Monday to Thursday, Saturday and Sunday (windsurf 10:30 – 13:30 and 14:30 – 17:30; wing 11:00 – 13:30 and 14:30 – 17:00).
