UP-WIND Kitesurfschule

UP-WIND Kitesurfschule, run by Jacek Zakrzewski, teaches kitesurfing and wingfoiling in Sankt Peter-Ording on the North Sea coast. The team consists of trained and certified instructors, some with additional teaching qualifications or a sports science degree.

Lessons are given in small groups of no more than three students per instructor, each with their own kite and board, a warm wetsuit and radio guidance. Teaching takes place in shallow water in a standing zone. The kite licence is included in the price and the school advertises a wind guarantee. Packages range from 3 to 15 hours of lessons, plus private or semi-private lessons and equipment rental.

Two areas are used: the long beach at Sankt Peter-Ording for kitesurfing, and the Speicherkoog at Meldorf for wingfoiling, a wave-free basin where kitesurfing is banned but wing and windsurf are allowed.
