Founded in 2008 in Carolina Beach on North Carolina's southern coast, Tony Silvagni Surf School is run by professional surfer Tony Silvagni. He moved to Kure Beach in 1993, has competed worldwide for more than 28 years and has coached surfing since 2003.
The school offers group and private surf and paddleboard lessons, week-long camps from March to September (ten hours of instruction, two students per instructor) and surf birthday parties. Lessons run year-round. Instructors are CPR, AED and first aid certified.
A shop at the same address rents surfboards, paddleboards, bodyboards and skimboards, plus kayaks, bikes and beach chairs and umbrellas, with free delivery and pickup on Pleasure Island.
