Personal Kite Rio

Personal Kite Rio offers private kitesurf lessons on Barra da Tijuca beach in Rio de Janeiro, with a fixed point on Av. Lúcio Costa, opposite no. 5300. Its website claims over 15 years of experience and more than 250 students trained.

The basic course is 10 hours: safety, rigging and de-rigging, body drag, riding with the board and transitions. The school offers full packages, single lessons and lessons from age 10, with complete equipment. It runs weekly trips to the Araruama lagoon, a flat-water spot, when Barra beach is unsuitable (big waves or lack of wind); this is optional and by arrangement.
