Surf school Marlyn

Surf school Marlyn is a windsurfing and stand up paddle school in Nerezine on the island of Lošinj (Bučanje base). The website says it has operated since 1986 and has worked at several sites on the island (Lopari camp, Rapoća camp, Hotel Punta, Punta Križa and Bučanje); it used to rent motorboats, sailboats, kayaks and bikes and now focuses on the windsurf school and SUP rental. It is a family business.

The full windsurf course (6 hours) starts on a land simulator and then moves to the water, with a theory book given at the start; it covers the basic position, starting, three turns, crossing and zig-zag sailing, with beginner equipment included. The school promises you will know how to sail in 6 hours. Group discounts apply (5% for two, 10% for three). The SUP school starts with a 15-20 minute introduction on land.

Rentals include five types of SUP, three sizes of canoe, a sailboat and windsurf boards with sails from 2.5 to 6 m² (by the hour, half day or full day).
