Surfsports.ch

Surfsports.ch is a Swiss kitesurfing, kitefoiling and wingfoiling school with a gear shop, whose contact address is in St. Gallen (Brühlgasse 35). It is run by the sole proprietorship AVConsulting Anton Virtic, registered in the commercial register of Zug; its founder has been windsurfing and then kiting for almost forty years. The instructors are IKO certified and lessons follow the International Kite Organization syllabus, with IKO certification and level card. Lessons are not held in St. Gallen: the school teaches wherever it is based for the season.

From mid-May to mid-September it is based in Domaso, at the northern end of Lake Como (Italy), in the small harbour of the Nautica Domaso boatyard where its boats are moored; the thermal breeze usually blows 2 to 5 Beaufort. Each instructor has a boat and teaches two students at most, on Core or Duotone gear: kite discovery, progression to independence, kitefoiling, wave kiting, wingfoiling, private coaching and a boat shuttle to the best spot of the day for independent riders (six at most). An impact vest is compulsory and third-party liability insurance covering kiting is required. The school also arranges outings for groups, companies or families (up to ten people) around the lake.

From October to January it offers trips to Jericoacoara, Brazil, with a local partner who is an IKO and ABK instructor, in a school authorised by the national park: lessons for all levels and one-day or multi-day downwinders. In February and March, in snowy winters, it gives snowkite lessons and coaching on request in Silvaplana or on the Bernina Pass. The online shop sells Duotone, Core, Ensis, Naish, Prolimit and ION gear as well as Greenish clothing; the school also handles quote requests and buying advice.
