Windsurfing Silvaplana

Windsurfing Silvaplana (Windsurfing Silvaplana GmbH) is a windsurfing and wingfoiling school on Lake Silvaplana, in the Upper Engadine. It runs two bases: the main station at the Center da Surf in Silvaplana (Stradun Chantunel 4), where the Maloja wind blows onshore to sideshore with some chop, better suited to experienced riders; and a second station in Sils Maria (Via Riva d'Lej 4), in a small bay with offshore wind and flat water, suited to beginners, families and children. The school does not teach kitesurfing: on this lake, kite lessons are given by Swiss Kitesurf at the Mulets sports centre.

Wingfoiling has been taught here since 2019 with Fanatic and Duotone equipment: introduction on a daggerboard board in groups of up to five, a step up to the foil for those who can already hold their course, a coached downwind between Sils and Silvaplana with the shuttle back, private lessons to work on manoeuvres, and a package combining a paragliding flight from Corvatsch with the wing introduction (with St. Moritz Paragliding). The school also offers windsurfing for adults and children, pumpfoiling, guided SUP and canoe tours, and rents windsurf, wing, foil, pumpfoil, SUP and kayak equipment, with a daily shuttle to the Sils station.

At the Silvaplana station, the school's shop sells windsurf and wing equipment, clothing and accessories, with a second-hand section and test rides credited against a purchase; the Engadine tourist office lists it as Mountain Surf Shop by Windsurfing Silvaplana. The school is also the Swiss distributor of Point-7 sails and repairs boards, usually by the next day.
