Escuela Asturiana de Surf is a surf and stand up paddle school based in Barro (Llanes), which presents itself as the first surf school in Asturias registered as an active tourism company. It is the project of Paulino Cavielles, four-time Asturian longboard champion, and of a former Spanish national surf coach, former training director of the Spanish Surf Federation and international judge.
The offer includes surf and SUP lessons and sessions, individual lessons, a surf and SUP programme for people with disabilities, technical coaching, SUP experiences (sunrise and sunset, Cares river descent, Barro and Niembro estuary, guided routes, SUP yoga, big SUP) and surf and SUP equipment rental. Each session lasts 1.5 hours and includes approved equipment, civil liability and sports accident insurance and an instructor. The school also lists several partner accommodations in Llanes.
