Centro Náutico da Praia de Faro

The Centro Náutico da Praia de Faro is a municipal sports complex of the city of Faro, dedicated to water sports for training and recreation, in the heart of the Ria Formosa natural park. It belongs to Faro city council and is part of the "Faro, a nautical destination" network.

The site includes a central building with storage, changing rooms, a training room and café, a pontoon, a launch ramp and two navigation lanes (learning area and sports development/recreation area). The centre provides nautical equipment for canoe-kayak, sailing, windsurfing and stand up paddle; the municipal nautical school offers courses in these disciplines, and the centre has run "Windsurf Open Day" and "Windsurf Weekend" events. It also runs Ria Formosa kayak tours on Sunday mornings (9:30 am, 2 hours, from age 8 if accompanied).
