Northwind Pantano del Ebro

Northwind is a watersports school in Somo (Cantabria) that also teaches kitesurf and wingfoil on the Ebro reservoir (Pantano del Ebro), between Burgos and Cantabria, which it nicknames "the Tarifa of the North". It says it has taught kitesurfing on this lake since 2004-2005, led by its founder Héctor, and was featured on the TV programme "Viajeros Cuatro".

The lake has no waves, shallow water and 20-25 degree water in summer. Wind is thermal and almost daily in summer: southerly in the morning, northerly in the afternoon. Kitesurf and wingfoil courses and rental run from June to September (ideal period quoted: May to September).

Formats shown: weekend course 220 EUR (group of 3-4, 8 h over 2 days), "One Day" course 170 EUR (2 people, 4 h), private course 300 EUR (4 h over 1 or 2 days), board, kite and wetsuit included (website prices, year not stated).
