The Cercle de Voile du Cap Leucate (CVCL) is a non-profit sailing club founded in 1996 and affiliated to the French Sailing Federation (FFVoile). Its water sports centre, La Marina, is on Avenue de la Pinède in Port-Leucate, on the shore of the Étang de Leucate: this lagoon offers sheltered water, where most of the teaching takes place. The team includes a base manager holding the BPJEPS sailing diploma and instructors with state diplomas or CQP qualifications. Every session follows the same pattern (theory, briefing, practice, debriefing), with the club's safety boats on the water.
Wingfoiling is taught as a proper course, from age 12. There are 2-hour sessions to learn to handle the wing on a stable board without a foil, wingfoil sessions for first flights, and a three-session course combining two wing sessions with one towed foil session. Each slot takes one to three students. The club also teaches windfoiling (2-hour lessons) and windsurfing, which it describes as its speciality: five-session courses from age 8, group sessions, private lessons from beginner level to funboard, and rental of windsurf boards and funboards with the water watched over. Changing rooms and showers are available.
The club also offers dinghy sailing (catamaran, funboat, Moussaillon courses from age 6, discovery trips on the lagoon or at sea), stand-up paddle and kayak rental, and a sports school for members, from leisure to funboard and windfoil racing. Since 1998, a second base has taught sand yachting on Les Coussoules beach at La Franqui. The club holds the Tourisme et Handicap label (the Aquali group boat, two-seater sand yachts) and the Famille Plus label. Its 2026 calendar included the IFCA Grand Slam fin and foil slalom world championships at La Franqui in April.
Prices shown in September 2026 on the website and on the club's booking platform, per person. Only the membership fees are dated (2026 season). Sailing and safety equipment is included; a wetsuit is extra (€8).
For single sessions, a one-day FFVoile pass (insurance for supervised activities, €4 or €5 depending on the page) is offered. Minors must provide a medical certificate less than one year old.
