Duotone Pro Center Port Barcarès

Duotone Pro Center Port Barcarès is a kitesurfing, wing foiling and stand-up paddle school at the Parc des Dosses in Le Barcarès, on the shore of the Salses-Leucate lagoon. It carries on the Surf and Kite school, founded in 2014 by instructor Julien Chossard, which still runs its own website (www.surfandkite.fr): both names share the same phone number and the same legal notice, in the names of Julien Chossard and Lucas Creutzmeyer. Part of the Duotone Pro Center network, the centre occupies a base of about 400 m² on the lagoon shore, with a bar and restaurant, rigging area, equipment storage, showers, lockers and parking.

The Dosses spot is a shallow lagoon separated from the sea, where the tramontane, a north-westerly wind that often blows 20 to 35 knots, produces flat water; the centre considers it a spot for experienced riders and schedules sessions around the forecast. Beginners mainly learn on the Étang de La Palme, in the Aude, which is shallow throughout; the school also moves to Leucate or Torreilles depending on level and wind, and arranges transfers to other spots when the wind shifts.

The programme covers kitesurfing lessons from first steps to independent riding (group, semi-private and private), supervised sessions, kitefoiling, wing foil lessons with a boat-towed foil simulator, e-foiling, rental of Duotone gear (kites, boards, foils) with ION harnesses and wetsuits, plus paddleboard rental, guided tours and paddle yoga. Instructors hold French state diplomas, students are linked to the instructor by radio, groups stay small (two to four students per instructor depending on the format) and a safety boat supports the sessions; on windless days, boat-towed sessions are offered. Lessons are given in French and English; the school states that it is affiliated with AFKite.
