School Presentation
Carcavelos Surf School opened in 2001 and presents itself as the first official surf school on Carcavelos beach, near Lisbon. It is certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation and by Turismo de Portugal; its instructors are graduates in human motricity accredited by the FPS, and the team is led by Pedro Elias, a Federation level 3 coach.
The school offers group lessons for all levels (ages 12 and up), lessons for children aged 6 to 11, private lessons, multi-lesson packs, lessons with transport from Lisbon, a school-holiday camp for kids (ATL), gift vouchers and board and wetsuit rental by the hour, half-day or full day. Board and wetsuit are included in lessons.
The facilities let students change and keep belongings safe, with an outdoor shower. The school is open all year, including weekends and holidays; schedules vary with tides and sea conditions. A shop is also mentioned on the website.
