Gecko Surf School is a surf school in Costa da Caparica, about 20 minutes from Lisbon, on Santo António beach (Apoio 8). It offers surf lessons for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced surfers, in a young and relaxed atmosphere.
The 2-hour lessons start on land (safety, paddling and take-off technique) and continue in the water with an instructor certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation. Board, wetsuit and insurance are included. The spot is chosen daily according to conditions; children are accepted from age 6 (private or semi-private lessons recommended for the youngest).
Options: group, private and semi-private (2 people) lessons, 4-lesson packs, bachelor parties, gift cards and equipment rental. If sea conditions are unsafe, the lesson is rescheduled at no cost or refunded up to 24 hours before.
