ESLA (Escola de Surf do Litoral Alentejano) is based in a bungalow on São Torpes beach, in the municipality of Sines. Founded on 1 April 1998, it presents itself as the first surf school in the Alentejo and one of the first in the country. It is open all year round.
The school's mentor and manager, Flávio Caldeira Jorge, is a first-generation surfer from São Torpes, a level II coach and winner of the first regional circuit in 1994.
It offers group lessons (minimum 4 people) and private lessons, children's summer clinics, a surf camp and equipment rental (surfboard or bodyboard, stand up paddle, wetsuit).
