KWM is both a school and a non-profit association (French 1901-law association) for kitesurfing and wingfoiling, based on the beach at Villeneuve-lès-Maguelone, south-west of Montpellier. The association was set up in 2006 as Kite et Windsurf Maguelone and ran the Festikite event from 2007 to 2021. It is affiliated to the FFVL (French free flight federation, club no. 28099) and the school is part of it: every student joins the club at their first lesson. The base has a terrace, changing room, showers, toilets and a rinsing area for equipment.
Lessons are taught by the school's two co-founders, both holding the French state instructor diploma (BPJEPS) and IKO certification. A lesson takes half a day: welcome and kitting out at the base, boat trip to the spot, session with each student followed by radio, return, rinsing and debriefing. Depending on wind, sea state and level, the school uses five spots: mainly Les Aresquiers beach, five minutes by boat from the base, and the Port-Camargue sandbank, plus Le Boucanet beach outside the summer season, Plage Nord at Port-Camargue and, in specific conditions, L'Espiguette. Kitesurfing options: group lessons (up to 4 students, each with their own kite), private lessons, duo lessons sharing one kite between two, coaching with video analysis (up to 6 people), kitefoiling, and supervised sessions for independent riders. Wingfoiling options: group lessons, private lessons with boat support, the Découverte+ package that adds one hour on the boat-towed simulator, coaching and supervised sessions. On windless days the boat is used for wake riding (wakeboard, strapless, towed foil), the wingfoil simulator and towed inflatables.
As for the association, membership gives access to the 110 hp safety boat on the water at no extra cost, to the premises, to a WhatsApp group for organising sessions, and to club activities: coaching at member rates, supervised downwinders (from Maguelone to Frontignan or Port-Camargue, and to Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône over two days), tow-in, snowkite trips and social evenings. The club also runs kite and wing trips of a week or more to Dakhla (Morocco) and Santa Verónica (Colombia), led by a state-qualified instructor.

“Blabla” offer: on single group lessons and coaching, €5 off for each extra person booked on the same lesson.
At the first lesson, a €5 association membership fee (valid for one year) is charged. Compulsory insurance is extra: €5 per day or €20.50 per year, covering supervised practice only. Neoprene shoes are recommended and can be rented for €5 per day. Payment by bank transfer or cash, on site after the lesson.

Open all year round: the Hérault tourist board's 2026 listing gives year-round opening, and the association offers coaching throughout the year. The website does not publish season dates.
There are no fixed time slots: send your availability by email, phone or WhatsApp, the school adds it to its schedule and confirms the lesson, usually the day before, once the wind forecast is suitable. Each lesson lasts half a day.
Access: in summer, park at the Pilou or Carré Mer car park and take the free little train to the school (3 to 7 min); outside the summer season, park at the Cathedral car park and walk 4 to 5 minutes.
