Academia do Mar is a surf and bodyboard school in Espinho, about 20 metres from the beach, in the Solverde shopping centre. Its team has more than 25 years of surf and bodyboard experience, is registered in the RNAAT (no. 451/2016) and is open all year.
Lessons, usually given at Baia beach, cater for beginners (levels 1 and 2), kids aged 6 to 12, intermediate, advanced and competition levels. Beginners surf near low tide so they can always stand. Times change with the tides and are posted every Sunday on the Foamballsurf app, Facebook, Instagram and a WhatsApp group. The school also offers surf clinics, rentals (surf, wetsuits, SUP, bodyboard, skate) and SUP tours on the Inha, Arda and Paiva rivers, tributaries of the Douro.
