School Presentation
SurfMilfontes is a surf school in Vila Nova de Milfontes on the Alentejo coast; it presents itself as one of the first in the region and states it was established in 2003. Instructors are local and certified by the Portuguese Surfing Federation, and safety helmets are optional during lessons.
Group lessons (2 hours) and private lessons take place at Malhão and Furnas beaches, with board, wetsuit, leash, daily insurance and transport to the beach included. Languages spoken are Portuguese, English, Spanish and German; minimum age is 5. The school also offers multi-day courses, family surf trips and team-building activities.
Boards and wetsuits can be rented at the shop in Vila Nova de Milfontes and, from July to October, from a wooden hut at Malhão beach. SurfMilfontes also runs surf camps with accommodation in the area.
