GKS - Go Kite School is a kitesurf club and school based in Esposende, in northern Portugal, at the Water Activities Centre of the Forum Esposendense. It is registered with Turismo de Portugal (RNAAT no. 42/2013) and is an IKO affiliated centre (no. 42910).
The spot offers a choice between ocean waves and the flat, shallow, sandy-bottomed lagoon of the Cavado estuary; the thermal northerly wind known as the Nortada often blows stronger than forecast. Students are taken to the beach by boat, with a support boat during lessons.
Kitesurf lessons are private (90 minutes) with equipment, insurance, hot showers and parking included. For independent kitesurfers the school offers equipment rental and a boat support service (day or week pass). It also offers stand up paddle lessons and rentals on the Cavado estuary, a free SUP on windless days, and a programme of no-wind activities (tandem paragliding, wakeboarding, trekking in Geres, climbing, SUP on the Neiva).
