Santocha Surf Club

The Santocha Surf Club is the surf and bodyboard club of Capbreton, a non-profit association affiliated to the French Surfing Federation (FFSurf). Founded in 1975, it presents itself as the only associative surf club in the town and claims about fifty years of activity. Its premises are at 3 rue de la Savane.

The club has around 484 licensed members and over 50 young competitors on the Federation's regional and national surf and bodyboard circuits. It runs a surf and bodyboard school for all levels from age 8, with board and wetsuit supplied for lessons. Swimming ability is advised, at least 25 m unaided.

Coaching is provided by four state-qualified instructors; bodyboard is taught by an instructor holding the BPJEPS. Licensed members benefit from training, access to the premises and reduced rates. The club runs all year.
