Description
Malmö Windsurfing Klubb, founded in 1981, is a windsurfing club based on Ribersborg beach in central Malmö, on the north side of the Turbine canal (Turbinkanalen). Its aim is to give members an accessible, safe and central place to windsurf, with theft-protected equipment storage.
The beach, nicknamed "Ribban", has large grass areas for rigging, a sheltered area for beginners, a sandy bottom with no stones and easy access to the Öresund for those who want to go further out. Members can store board, mast, boom and sail in the clubhouse, which also has a changing area and lighting.
The club runs windsurfing courses for beginners and follow-up courses, starting from its beach base where the equipment is close to the water. It has also given many courses for young people, as part of municipal projects such as "Sommar på stranden" and "Kul i Malmö".
