Nimbus Surfing Club
Viale Roma 10, 55045 Marina di Pietrasanta · Toscana · Italy
Description
Nimbus Surfing Club was formed in 1993 at Marina di Pietrasanta, in Versilia, as a non-profit sports association by a group of surfers. In 1994 an agreement with the municipality gave it use of the former Colonia Laveno to create the first Italian surfing club with a year-round nautical base, and the first wave surf school in Italy, recognised at the time by the ASI, the origin of today's FISSW.
The club has a nautical base (headquarters, Viale Roma 10) and a surf school at the Pontile Tonfano, a FISSW federal training centre. Activities include surfing (beginners and intermediates), sailing (several levels), windsurfing (four course levels), SUP (lessons and rental), surfskate and a summer camp for ages 4 to 14 ("Scuola del Mare"). A winter season is announced.
