Black Local, kitesurf craftsman in La Rochelle

Black Local is a shaping workshop based in La Rochelle, in the Minimes district (6 rue Virginie Hériot). The brand, described as active since 1998, is led by shaper Sergio Munari, who claims more than a thousand boards built and specialises in high-end composite structures.

The 240 m² workshop is equipped with a CNC machine. It builds windsurf boards, stand up paddle boards and wing/foil boards, all made to measure in direct discussion with the rider.

On the construction side, the website mentions ECS (epoxy core sandwich) for SUPs since 2008, and a Dyneema, carbon and Corecell sandwich for wing boards since 2019. The ranges shown include the Classik Wave and Wave Compak in windsurf, the Promodel and Performer in SUP, and the WINF M6, Race, M1, M1 Free and M4 in wing/foil.
