28.5 / Sullivan's Island is a kitesurfing spot on Sullivan's Island, a historic barrier island northeast of Charleston. The name refers to the 28-and-a-half avenue marker on the island. The Atlantic-facing beach offers a long stretch of sand with good wave and wind conditions. Sullivan's Island is one of the most popular spots in the Charleston area, benefiting from regular northeast and southeast winds. The spot is easily accessible from downtown Charleston.
