Edmonds is a kitesurfing spot on Puget Sound, in the city of Edmonds north of Seattle, Washington. The spot is close to the Edmonds-Kingston ferry terminal. The beach provides Puget Sound access with variable southwest and northwest winds. Conditions can be flukey and launching requires experience. In north wind, the beach tends to be in the wind shadow with offshore flow. The setting is pleasant with views of the Olympic Mountains.

Cold Puget Sound water (8-14°C), 4/3 wetsuit recommended year-round. Relatively calm Puget Sound waters with moderate chop during thermal winds. Tidal currents present. Mixed bottom with underwater pipes and submerged concrete blocks. Southwest and northwest winds at 10-20 knots, often irregular and gusty in this urbanized coastal area.

Underwater pipes and submerged concrete blocks: collision hazard. Creosote pilings just off the beach that can catch kites. Edmonds-Kingston ferry operating nearby: absolute vigilance required. Tidal currents in Puget Sound. Irregular and gusty winds with few downwind options if drifting. Cold water risking hypothermia. Beach area busy with swimmers in summer. Paid parking.
