Overview

Ras Nungwi is located at the far north of Zanzibar. This spot faces north, offering a different wind angle compared to the east coast spots. The southeast trade winds of the Kusi season (June to October) arrive side-offshore. The spot is suited to intermediate riders with more open conditions and less reef protection than Paje or Jambiani. Nungwi is a popular tourist destination with plenty of accommodation options. The tide influences riding conditions.
