Pourville-sur-Mer is a wave spot on Normandy's Alabaster Coast, between Dieppe (7 km NE) and Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer (8 km SW). The beach is framed by impressive chalk cliffs and offers a wild, unspoilt setting. Well-known for surf and windsurf, it provides quality waves with west to northwest winds.
For kitesurfing, the spot is for experienced riders only: the beach is narrow and the cliffs nearby make launching and recovering tricky, especially at high tide. At low tide, some sand is uncovered at the base of the cliffs but space remains limited. Lateral currents can be strong depending on wind direction. Best waves on a falling tide.
Beginners or those seeking a safer spot should prefer nearby Saint-Aubin-sur-Mer, which is larger and better suited for learning. Surf'in Pourville surf/SUP school is present on site.

Best conditions: W to NW (side-onshore port tack), raising a good swell. NW brings the best waves for kite and windsurf. NE wind is rare but possible (windsurf/wingfoil only recommended in these conditions). Southerly winds are offshore — avoid. Best waves on a falling tide.
Beach framed by cliffs — dangerous if you drift toward them, especially at high tide. Don't kite alone. Potentially strong lateral currents. At high tide, the beach nearly disappears: shore break onto the pebbles, no space to launch. Surf starts roughly 3h30 after high tide (sand banks uncover). Not recommended for beginners.
