This spot is one of the most popular in Hervey Bay, offering calm waters sheltered by Fraser Island and consistent southeast trade winds. The spot works from September to May with winds of 15-25 knots. The Urangan Pier, 868 metres long, is an iconic landmark. Calm and shallow waters, perfect for beginners and intermediate riders. Sailing is prohibited too close to the pier. Hervey Bay is a premier kitesurfing destination in Queensland thanks to its consistent conditions and flat water. The town offers all necessary amenities. It is also the departure point for visiting Fraser Island (K'gari), a World Heritage site.
