Punta Balcones is the westernmost point of South America, located in the Negritos/Talara area, in the Piura region of Peru. This cape offers exceptional windy conditions thanks to the wind acceleration effect around the point. The south to south-east wind blows strongly in the afternoon, between 18 and 30 knots from March to December. The wind is accelerated by the Venturi effect around the cape. The spot is reserved for expert riders due to the powerful wind, currents and isolation.
