Playa Bagdad is a wild spot in Tamaulipas, on the Gulf of Mexico near Matamoros. North winds (Nortes) blow powerfully in winter, creating committed conditions with waves. The isolated beach and sometimes extreme conditions make it a spot reserved for advanced riders, with Gulf swell that can be substantial.
