Kitesurf

The Penthièvre isthmus, at Quiberon (Morbihan), has two sides: the bay and the ocean. On the bay side the spot is rideable from west to east; in an easterly the bay-side beaches are used, in a westerly the ocean side, on the Penthièvre beaches. At low tide you can launch and ride in the middle of the isthmus. Summer thermal wind is modest; stormy winter conditions are for experienced riders, and the Pouladen / Moulin Rouge area, with its channel, is for experts.

Parking possible près du magasin "La Trinitaine", accès direct sur la plage depuis le parking. Parking accessible directement depuis la nationale entre Auray et Quiberon.

Côté baie : kite et activités aérotractées interdits devant la plage, au sud du camping de Penthièvre (source : guide vvanat.fr, dates à vérifier auprès de la commune). Le côté océan n'est pas concerné.

NE à SE pour éviter le offshore d'Ouest, à partir de 1,50m d'eau.

Hazards

On the bay side, kiting and towed aerial activities are banned from 29 May to 11 September in front of the beach, south of the Penthièvre campsite; the north part of the ocean-side beach is reserved for technical take-off and landing. Dates to be checked with the municipality.
