On Lake Constance, German side, kiting is generally banned and allowed only in revocable exemption zones. At Friedrichshafen these are Fischbach (east of the marina entrance, up to the western limit of the Seebad) and Seemoos (Seemooser Horn, west of the canoe club, up to Zeppelin University). At Fischbach the wind is mostly from the west, sideshore, pushing toward the shore; a north wind shelters the bay behind the west promontory.
