Port-Mahon — Sigean. Ancient Roman port on the étang de Bages-Sigean, now home to the Cercle Nautique des Corbières base. Situated in the heart of the Parc Naturel Régional de la Narbonnaise, in a peaceful lagoon far from crowded beaches.

Stunning scenery: views of the village of Bages, Île de l'Aute (conservatoire du littoral), ancient salt pans, thousands of waterbirds (flamingos, cormorans). Windsurf, wingfoil, catamaran, SUP. Beginner-friendly — calm flat water, ideal for learning and progression.

Wind specificities

Tramontane (NW/NNW): dominant wind. Same Tramontane corridor as La Nautique and Vieille Nouvelle. Can be gusty.

Marin (SE/S): also works, more regular.

Calm lagoon — ideal for learning windsurf and wingfoil. Base nautique with professional instructors.

Hazards

Parc Naturel Régional de la Narbonnaise — protected area. Respect wildlife (thousands of waterbirds: flamingos, cormorants), flora and fishermen.

Shallow lagoon — water shoes recommended.

Calm water ideal for learning but wind can be gusty by Tramontane (NW corridor).
