Ekerum Kitebeach is a dedicated kitesurfing spot located on the east coast of Öland Island, in Kalmar County. As its name suggests, it is a beach specifically known and used for kitesurfing on the island. The spot faces the open Baltic Sea with an east exposure. East and northeast winds offer onshore conditions with good fetch. South and southwest winds, common in the area, create ideal side-shore conditions. The water can get choppy in strong winds. Ekerum is one of the most well-known kitesurfing spots on Öland, with an active rider community. The nearby Ekerum resort offers accommodation and services. The spot is suitable for intermediate and advanced riders.
