Spot functioning
Take TESO ferry from Den Helder to Texel (20 min, frequent). Drive/cycle north on Texel to De Cocksdorp. Follow signs toward the northern dunes. Walk through dunes (15–20 min) to beach. GPS: Paal 33, northern Texel. No facilities — bring water, food, repair kit. Expert only — go with group. Year-round but best Sept–Mar.

On the water
Full North Sea + Waddenzee combined — large waves (up to 3m+), powerful rip currents, strong swell. Salt water. Cold year-round: 5/4mm minimum. No standing area. Deep from shore. Expert conditions. One of the most powerful wave spots in the Netherlands.
Wind specificities
W/NW/N/SW all work — completely exposed coast. Best in strong W/NW for maximum conditions. Year-round but best Sept–Mar (strongest conditions). Expert minimum. Spectacular but demanding environment. UNESCO Waddensea surrounds — respect nature rules.
Hazards
North Sea expert conditions — strong waves, powerful rip currents. Waddenzee currents on north side of Texel. Remote location (no facilities, no rescue). Wetsuit 5/4mm required. Expert minimum. Walk through dunes from parking. Never alone. Driftwood and debris on beach after storms.
