Overview

Tom's Cove is located on Assateague Island, a barrier island on Virginia's Atlantic coast, within the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge. This spot offers exceptional conditions with a large expanse of shallow water on the bay side, perfect for flat water kitesurfing. Northeast winds are frequent in autumn and winter, while southwest breezes dominate in summer. The natural setting is preserved with wild horses visible from the water. Be aware of wildlife protection zones and refuge regulations. The sandy bottom and shallow waters are well suited for beginners and intermediate riders on the bay side.
