On the water
The water body faces the gulf on the south side (waves possible) and St. Andrew Bay on the north side (flat water). The bottom is white sand. The water is emerald and warm. The choice of side depends on wind direction. Both sides offer very different conditions — gulf for waves, bay for flat.
Hazards
Uninhabited island with no services or rescue — self-rescue and complete autonomy essential. Access only by boat — plan your return. Strong currents in the passes (St. Andrew Pass) east of the island. In northerly winds, conditions are offshore on the gulf side. Sharks and stingrays present. No drinking water or shelter on the island.
