Overview
Åhus is a kitesurfing spot located on the east coast of Skåne, in Hanö Bay (Hanöbukten), facing the Baltic Sea. Åhus is a seaside town known for its Absolut Vodka distillery and its long white sandy beaches.
Hanö Bay offers east and southeast exposure towards the Baltic. East and southeast winds create good onshore conditions with significant fetch. South and southwest winds are also favorable as side-shore. The beaches of Åhus are among the most beautiful in Sweden with fine white sand.
Åhus is one of the most popular spots on the east coast of Skåne, attracting riders from across the region. The town offers good tourist infrastructure with restaurants, accommodation and shops. The spot is suitable for all levels thanks to its accessible beaches and shallow waters near the shore.
The best season runs from April to October, with particularly good conditions in autumn when east winds strengthen.
