<![CDATA[The large bay of Calvi is a prime kite spot in northern Corsica. Wide sandy beach, easy access, stunning scenery with the citadel backdrop and snowy Monte Cinto mountains.

NE wind: 1.5-2m waves, launch in front of the Foreign Legion base. Great wave conditions.
Mistral (NW): slalom on flat water, launch along the beach. Offshore wind, slightly gusty near shore.

Warning: wind funnels into the bay — if you don't tack well leaving, you won't return to your starting point. Light wind at shore, then sudden 35-knot gusts 200m out. Spot for autonomous riders only, no kite schools in Balagne.

Sensitive cohabitation with swimmers, especially in summer. Kiting is tolerated but not regulated. Ride east of the beach, away from swimmers.]]>
