Overview

Noosa River Mouth is a premier kitesurfing spot on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. This second entry in the database corresponds to the same iconic spot at the Noosa River mouth, offering warm shallow waters and wind accelerated by the channelling effect. The spot works ideally with NNE to NE winds of 15-25 knots combined with an outgoing tide. The most consistent period is from September to February. Shallow waters perfect for learning in warm water. Wave riding is excellent where the river meets the ocean. Watch out for heavy maritime traffic in summer and shifting sandbanks. Kite schools present on the spot. Noosa Heads nearby with all amenities.
