Kite Point is a dedicated kitesurf spot located near the Avon-Heathcote Estuary in Christchurch. As its name suggests, it is a location historically associated with kitesurfing in the Canterbury region. The spot benefits from the Canterbury Nor'wester (NE) as the dominant wind. The proximity of the estuary offers a semi-sheltered riding area with calmer waters than the open beach. Tides significantly influence the rideable area.
