BLAHAV151 (Okinawa Wind & Surf Pro Shop)

BLAHAV151 is Okinawa's specialist windsurfing and stand up paddle shop, in Senaga (Tomigusuku), near Naha airport. It is run by pro windsurfer Naoto Shimabukuro and Kai Shimabukuro.

The shop sells windsurfing gear from the main brands, wetsuits and accessories, rents windsurf and SUP equipment, gives lessons and introductions, and maintains and repairs boards and sails. It also organises events and supports photo and video shoots.

Lessons mainly take place at the beach on Senaga island, ten minutes from the airport: calm, shallow water with the reef far from shore, handy for an hour or two of training; you can sail for about five hours around high tide. The site also mentions Moon Beach, fifty minutes from the airport, but says it is currently unavailable. The "Kachibee" monsoon season from mid-June is described as the best.
