Costa Azul Surf Shop

Costa Azul Surf Shop is a surf shop and school that has operated since 1986 opposite Costa Azul beach in San José del Cabo, Baja California Sur. The shop sells hand-crafted surfboards and offers a catalogue of exclusive designs.

It rents more than 300 boards across its two sites (fish, shortboards, funshapes, longboards, hybrids, paddleboards), as well as bodyboards, skimboards, snorkelling gear and roof racks. Rental boards are replaced every three months on average.

Lessons are given by first-aid-certified instructors with at most three students per instructor: from mid-March to late October from the Costa Azul shop on the Sea of Cortez side, then from mid-November to mid-March from its stand at Los Cerritos beach on the Pacific side. A 12-seat air-conditioned van is used for excursions to other breaks.

San José del Cabo: Monday to Saturday 7 am to 6 pm, Sunday 9 am to 5 pm. Los Cerritos: daily 7 am to 6 pm.
